• Windows NT/2000/XP/Vista/Windows 7, we do not support windows 95,98 or ME

Simply Postcode Look Up Desktop Software: How to Get Started?

Simply Download Installation Program, install on your network, where all users can see the program, then on other machines simply run "ClientInstall.exe". This will open an evaluation account for one Postcode area for 30 days.   Use test postcodes to test different address formats

Download Desktop Postcode Finder Software

When ready to purchase, Select menu “Options >> Manage Account/Purchase” menu, to purchase a license.

To install on other network computers

The same software can be easily copied to Laptops and other offices, by copying the installed directory ("ZipPostcodeLookup"), and simply running "ClientInstall.exe" on each machine required.

Firewall Settings

Normally you should have no problem with firewalls.  If you do please open the following domain:

www.simplylookupadmin.co.uk  port 80/443 (HTTP/HTTPS)

Copying/Moving Installation

All your own definitions and License is stored in the “ZipPostcodeLookup” directory. If the system is installed on a network then other computers should see your new definitions/changes/updates.

If not installed on network, then we would suggest moving the installation to the network. This can be done by:

Step 1 Uninstall if moving

Simply activate lookup window, then select “Help >> Un-Install this program” from the menu.

Step 2 Move/Copy directory

Move the “ZipPostcodeLookup” directory, to network. Note each user must have full access rights to this directory.

Step 3 Install Postcode Software Application on each machine

Install by running “ClientInstall.exe” from “ZipPostcodeLookup” directory

All settings and license should now be active.

Step 4 Test your implementation

To test your implementation we provide unrestricted acccess to a handfull of special test postcodes.

Uninstalling the Postcode Look Up Software Application

To Uninstall the application:

• Simply activate lookup window, then select “Help >> Un-Install this program” from the menu.
• To un-install from network after un-installing each PC. Simply delete the ZipPostcodeLookup directory.

Simply Postcode Look Up Desktop Software: Local Data

We strongly recommend that you use the Internet based version of our Postcode Look Up Software if possible, as daily updates are automatic and it has the advanced word search feature.  Show me advanced word search

Step 1

Download either:

• Full Address Version, Click here to download files (130mb)
• Thoroughfare (Street Level) Version, Click here to download files (50mb)

Step 2

Click here to open an online account with us.

Please read the terms and conditions when opening the account. 

Step 3

Unzip the contents of the file downloaded to a directory, either on each PC or to a shared network directory. The program requires full rights to the installed directory.

Then run "ClientInstall.exe", from the chosen installed directory, on each PC. This will place the Simply Postcode Desktop software in the start-up group, so it is always available to the user. You may be required to reboot the PC during installation.

When first run the system will ask for an unlock code:

 

Please ring 01945 464854, or use contact us, for your activation code, quoting your:

• License ID, which is on the e-mail sent to you when you opened the account and the first screen of your on-line account record.
• Site ID, which is shown on the unlock window (see above). This is unique for each installation. So if installed on a network then the system has only one site number. If installed on separate PC's then each PC will have a different Site ID and require a different Activation code.
  

Very Important : Once installed the software cannot be moved, since it will effect the licensing. So choose the installation configuration and location carefully.

When going into the settings on the Desktop software, it will ask for a password. When used in local mode this password is "LocalMode".

Copying/Moving Installation

Once installed this type of installation SHOULD NOT BE MOVED. If it is moved then it will require a new license, which we may charge for.
