Download Desktop Software

Requirements:

• Windows NT/2000/XP, we do not support windows 95,98 or ME
• Broadband internet connection
• Full access rights to install network directory

Install on Network:

Run the Install.exe program, which is downloaded from our web site, or from you reseller, and select a directory which all computers can see on the network.

Install on another Computer on Network:

Simply browse to the installed directory, "ZipPostcodeLookup" directory by default, and run ClientInstall.exe from PC.   

Note: To install the user will need the rights to the registry and full rights to the installed directory.

Install on remote Laptop:

1. Simply copy the installed directory,  "ZipPostcodeLookup" directory by default, from network to Laptop

2. Run ClientInstall.exe.   This will install all necessary files on Laptop and put in startup group

Software Updates

Software Updates

1. When a new version of the software is available, then a new menu option will become available "*** Upgrade Available ***".  

2. When clicked on this will take the user to our web site where they can download the updated, it will also inform them where to save the update.

3. When the machines are rebooted then the new version will become available automatically, and the old version removed.

4. After upgrade, each user will be asked to "Test Internet" connection.  This will ensure that no personal firewalls will stop communication.   Users should grant access if asked by firewall software.

Interfaced Applications

As we add new applications, to interface with, to the software then the program will automatically add them in the background 

How do I un-install this software?

1. Simply run "UnInstallClient.exe" from the installed directory, ZipPostcodeLookup directory by default, from PC

2. To un-install from network after un-installing each PC.  Simply delete the ZipPostcodeLookup directory.

Full Address Search by Postcode

Simply enter a postcode in the search box, then press find:

Then double click on desired address in list.

Speed Postcode Search

For speed, the user can enter the house number or the start of the house name after postcode.  

So for example, entering PO7 4RW,ma will find every house beginning with "ma"

Please Note: Excessive searches, without using the address, will be charged for.

Thoroughfare PAF Address information

Returns partial address from Postcode.  The user enters the premises name/number.   This is cheaper than FULL address  but not so convenient since the user has to type the Name or number of building.  [See Pricing]

The Desktop Client can be forced to always use a Thoroughfare License by selecting "Options >> Use Thoroughfare License" menu.  This allows some users to use Full PAF Postcode Lookup Address searching, and others to use the cheaper PAF thoroughfare licenses.

If you have only purchased a thoroughfare license, then the Desktop software will default to thoroughfare address search.
