Step 2 : Download the data Program and Data files
Download either:

Step 3 : Open an account with us
Go to our home page, at
www.simplypostcode.com and
select "Log
In/Create online account" to open an account with us. Your
license ID is displayed on the first window on your on-line account
record and is sent to you be e-mail.
Please read the terms and conditions when
opening the account.
Step 4 : Install Software
Unzip the contents of the file downloaded to a
directory, either on each PC or to a shared network directory. The
program requires full rights to the installed directory.
Then run "ClientInstall.exe", from the chosen
installed directory, on each PC. This will place the Simply
Postcode Desktop software in the start-up group, so it is always
available to the user. You may be required to reboot the PC during
installation.
When first run the system will ask for an

code, quoting your:

License ID, which is on the
e-mail sent to you when you opened the account and the first screen
of your on-line account record.

Site ID, which is shown on
the unlock window (see above). This is unique for each
installation. So if installed on a network then the system has
only one site number. If installed on separate PC's then each
PC will have a different Site ID and require a different Activation
code.
Very Important : Once
installed the software cannot be moved, since it will effect the
licensing. So choose the installation configuration and location
carefully.
Other points of interest
When going into the settings on the Desktop
software, it will ask for a password. when used in local mode this
password is "LocalMode".
Managing data updates
To update your data either:

Automatically download and apply,
where the internet is available on PC

Run "Manager.exe" and press
[Apply Updates] button

Then press [Download updates from
Internet] button

Any data files will be then downloaded
and applied to the main data file automatically

Download complete data file and apply, where internet is unavailable
on PC

Download Data on a PC with internet:
-
Copy files to Installed directory on
PC/Network you want to apply the updates too. The
above files will simply replace the existing databases.
Uses can be in the system, but not perform searches while
the file is being copied.

Download individual updates, where internet is unavailable
on PC
-
On a PC with internet connection, go to our web site
www.simplypostcode.com

The select "CD-ROM
based Data" from the menu on the left.

Scroll down the page, to the "Updates
and Data Status" section, then download
files which are newer then your data file. The data of
your data file is shown on Data/License manager (see below)

Put updates on CD-ROM, USB memory
stick, etc

Copy files to Installed directory on
PC/Network you want to apply the updates too
-
Run "Manager.exe", it will detect the
update files and offer to apply them.
